Feb Break -homework based on "How to think like Leonardo da vinci" book
For the month of February students will complete Part three of "How to think like Leonardo da vinci" book. The Beginner's DaVinci Drawing Course
Although most of these elements have been covered in previous classes this Completes the study and prepares them for the next three months of art class where art creation will be a major focus. Students will need to assess their own needs and be prepared to paint images they have chosen for 2018.

Dec 14th - Underpaintings
Different processes to painting and underpainting
The first process:
Students will draw a colt with sepia colour. using a mix of ultra and burnt sienna to change the colour value they will create an underpainting. Then using acrylics; paying attention to detail and background colour/tone changes they will complete their artwork.
Dec 7th Thumbnails
Making thumbnails using: 1. shape only as rectangles/boxes/circles 2. using shade only; as silhouette 3. using tonal vales; as sketching
Identifying perspective, shadow and tones
Artists were given a number of scenarios in shadow boxes. Using items of various textures: these included fruit, a metal shiny piggy bank, a fuzzy stuffed rabbit, an aluminum green truck, a baseball with glove, a couple of wooden art figures.
